What a beautiful day for a celebration! Early September, and the forecast is for sun with a high of 86 degrees. Perfect for an on-air party celebrating STG’s 13th Anniversary and with Brazilian Music Day. We celebrated with a live performance from Olympia-based Choro Tomorrow and many other Brazilian sounds.
You’ve been an integral part of the show, whether you’ve been listening from the start back in 1999, or just tuned in this week. So thanks for listening, and I’m always eager to hear your feedback on the show or ideas for future shows.
The Brazil women’s soccer team may be out of the Olympics, but that won’t put a damper on this Sunday’s Brasilfest at the Seattle Center… and it didn’t rain on this radio show either. We heard all manner of Brazilian music, from forro to funk, for some two-thirds of the show. Plus new releases and more in hour 2.
It’s gonna be a sizzling weekend (’bout time!) here in Cascadia. Stay cool … and as always, live locally and groove globally until next Friday’s show.
This week, a countdown of the Top 10 chart of global CDs –topped by the party-friendly Brazilian sounds of Maga Bo! Plus a variety of old favorites, new releases, and concert previews in hour 2. Enjoy, and happy summer!
We may be starting to see the hints of spring here in the north, but in Brazil it’s time for a full-on sweaty summer street party. Our Carnaval on the air features music from Brazil, Trinidad, New Orleans, and other corners of the earth where Carnival/Carnaval is celebrated. Plus some new releases and such in hour 2.
